Dish-washer safe filters and an “Easy Empty” dirt canister that keeps your hands clean are more great features. Energy-star qualified. Black and Decker also claims a “3-stage filtration system” so the exhaust air blown out is nice and clean. All in all, this vacuum combines the convenience of a portable cordless hand vacuum with the power and versatility of a full size house vacuum.

PROS
- Very strong power and suction, pet hair attachments works great
- Does everything a powerful house vacuum can do as advertised
- Dishwasher safe filter is a big bonus on savings. One reviewer writes they clean theirs in the dryer with no problems (and the dryer filter catches the dirt)
- Light and easy to carry. Easy to maneuver
CONS
- Cordless and strong suction also means short battery life (15 to 20 minutes reported by many owners). This vacuum is no different for charge life
- Longer charging time than most cordless (21 hours reported by some owners)
Most of the negative comments out there by owners deal with the charge time being long and the vacuum staying charged for only about 15 to 20 minutes. Most cordless vacuums will have long charge times and short vacuum times, but with a vacuum like this with more powerful suction that vacuum time will shorten.
That being said, for a small job where you want a powerful vacuum but only for a few minutes job, but not wheel and lug out the big vacuum, the Black And Decker FHV1200 Flex Vac is a great choice – it is a great substitute for the main big vacuum.
